Description
Get your skydiving career started right with Skydive Spaceland! This is part 2 of our industry-leading Skydiver Training Program Ground School; part 1 is our Online First-Jump Course at eSkydiving.com. If you have not already taken the online course and tests, do that first before you return here to schedule your on-site training.
Once that is done, you’re ready to come to the drop zone and do the hands-on part of your training, which will include:
- Equipment familiarization/gear checks
- Parachute flight principles and landing patterns
- Parachute malfunctions training
- Parachute landing rolls (PLRs)
- Freefall body position, altitude checks, and deployment practice
- Freefall hand signals
- Exit technique
- Dive Flow 1 plan
This part of your training usually takes 2-3 hours depending on the number of students and questions in the class. You’ll review knowledge concepts, then practice skills in a group setting until you’re ready for that first solo training skydive!!!
Prepare to spend all day at the drop zone so you can jump right after the training (weather permitting!) and get a few jumps done towards that solo skydiving license!
Tips for Success:
- Dress appropriately to skydive (athletic clothing, lace up shoes such as tennis shoes (no sandals or hiking boots with speed lace hooks)
- Bring your valid government-issued ID
- Bring water and snacks/drinks to stay fueled (we also have vending machines and a cafe!)
- Bring your appetite for learning!
